Having my car in the shop should have been a stressful experience, especially when I am stranded in a town I do not know anyone.
The tow truck driver called the mechanic and asked him to delay his physiotherapy appointment in order to see if he can get me back on the road that same day.
Then the mechanics were so kind and caring, they even gave me an apple and a bottle of water from their lunch to make sure I stayed hydrated in the heat. And yes, it is true - one of them sang me a song on this video. This just goes to show that it doesn’t take much to improve someone’s day. Sing a song, tell a story, offer a smile -- you never know the impact it will have.
People asked me why they would do such a thing? Simple, the rock that you throw into the water will ripple. From the time I got picked up by the tow truck driver, I consciously chose the rock I wanted to be. The rock you choose in a situation, your attitude, is the rock that will ripple into people around you.
In short, be nice and kind to people around you and you will receive the same.
